The Wellston Recreation Board is made up of five members. Three are appointed by the Mayor and two are chosen by the Wellston City School Board, an arrangement mandated by the Ohio Revised Code. Scot Sturgill, our Parks & Recreation Director, is a fulltime city employee.

The Wellston Recreation Department is responsible for all youth and adult city recreation programs, as well as operation of the city pool and maintenance of the 1.8 mile bike path. The Recreation Department also is involved in long range planning of parks and recreation facilities in Wellston.
